Soya Entries Open

How to Enter:

Australian creatives and artists aged 18 - 30 are invited to enter original creative work in the 2012 Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA365) for a chance to win an overseas trip including 8 nights accommodation, airfare, $5,000 in cash and flights and skill up with experts.

This year SOYA has changed for the better, we're open 365 days of the year and each month a different category closes. Be sure to check your individual category pages for the countdown of days left to submit your entry for a specific category.

Step 1:

Enter your details to create a SOYA365 artist profile.

1. Enter your email address and a password to create your account
2. Check and agree to the terms and conditions

Step 2

Upload your profile picture (this will be how friends and family will recognise you on the site!) as well as telling us a little bit about you.

Enter your contact information and details about yourself, and answer some basic questions to confirm your citizenship and readiness to travel.

Enter your social profiles, this may include links to for example, your Facebook page, your twitter account, your Youtube channel or Flickr gallery.

Save this information and then continue to the next step.

Step 3:

UPLOAD YOUR ENTRY.

Click on ‘enter now' to move on to the entry screen, where you can upload the creative work that will be considered as the basis of your entry, whether it's a song, a piece of writing, a photograph, a film - the list is only limited by your imagination.

Here you have the option of uploading images, audio, video or text.

A note on uploading text: as part of your text entry you will first need to upload a cover image to accompany your words. This is to provide a fitting display element for your work. Find an image that suits your work, and think of it as your cover art. Your text will be entered directly to the website and you will have up to 500 words per piece. If you are copying text from other documents please use Notepad or similar to remove formatting before pasting copy into the form to ensure extra characters are removed. These can affect your wordcount and the appearance of your final text.

This is where you associate your work with a category (or categories). You can select multiple categories for the one piece of work if you wish.

Step 4:

Tell us about your submission.

Tell us about your work or your career. You might like to give a general overview and some specific information about the pieces you have uploaded in support of your submission. We know 300 words isn't much so be sure to include your portfolio URL so we know where to go for more information, and remember you can also use the text option if you have more to say.

Feel free to include an artist statement, media coverage and links to online showreels, blogs or galleries.

Preview, edit or publish your entry!
